Older people are eligible for a free bus pass.
Where and when you can use your bus pass
An older person's bus pass provides free travel on local buses anywhere in England. This is from 9:30am to 11pm on weekdays, and all day at weekends and on bank holidays.
Applying, renewing or replacing an older person's bus pass
You can apply for an older person's bus pass up to two months before the date you become eligible. This will then be sent out 10 calendar days prior to that date.
You can replace or renew an older person's bus pass up to 30 days before the expiry date of your card.

Northamptonshire Libraries and opening times
You will need to take with you proof of your age. This includes:
- current driving licence
- current passport
- birth certificate
- medical card
- pension service award letter
- any other proof of your birth date
You will also need to prove that you are resident in Northamptonshire:
- household bill or bank statement which has your name and address on and is no more than three months old
Your photograph will be taken at the library.
Eligibility dates for an older person's bus pass
