Enhanced partnership for buses

We are looking to enter into enhanced partnerships with local bus operators by April 2022. This is in support of the Government's National Bus Strategy for England Bus Back Better.!

Public consultation

We have consulted on priorities for bus service improvements across West Northamptonshire. The consultation closed on 10 October 2021 and we are currently analysing the consultation responses.

Bus service improvement plans

We have published our bus service improvement plans which outline plans for improving bus services. In addition, it outlines accessing funding through the National Bus Strategy.

Enhanced Partnership Plan and Scheme

We have prepared an Enhanced Partnership Plan and Enhanced Partnership Scheme in accordance with the Transport Act 2000 as amended by the Bus Services Act 2017. These documents can be found below.

This consultation ran until 19 January 2022, and no objections were received. Some detailed suggestions for improvement were made and changes have been made. 

A stakeholder consultation ran until 25 February 2022. Details of how to respond to the consultation can be found in the notice for the Enhanced Partnership below.

Any changes are made will require a further 28 day consultation with bus operators, who have a right of objection.
