For the Love of Books

For the Love of Books returns with a third reading challenge, this summer. "For the Love of Books - Summer Six" is the reading challenge for grown ups and will run concurrently with the Summer Reading Challenge. Northamptonshire Libraries are challenging adults to read 6 books in 8 weeks and if you want to stretch yourself further you can choose titles from 6 categories which will be revealed throughout the summer. If you complete the challenge you can enter a prize draw to win a £20 voucher for Bookshop.org.

Any adult can join this challenge but it is running alongside the Summer Reading Challenge so that parents, carers and teachers can become reading role models and whole families can take part in a reading challenge this summer.

How to get involved with Summer Six

There are a number of ways to show your support for Summer Six.

Join the Summer Six challenge

Sign up to the challenge at any LibraryPlus library, from 9 July 2022, and you will receive a log to record the books you read.

Enter the prize draw

When you complete the challenge, hand your log in to a library and you will be entered into the prize draw to win a £20 voucher from Bookshop.org, the online bookshop with a mission to financially support local, independent bookshops. Share your opinion on the books you read on the library catalogue:

log into the library catalogue using your library card number and pin
search for the book that you would like to review
select the book and then click on "Add your review"

Write your review and then click save. Your review will be live on the catalogue once it has been verified.
