Government has agreed a period of up to 3 years to implement a new policy for how the new Council will allocate affordable rented housing.

This means that there is no change currently to how people apply for affordable homes or the criteria that needs to be met to decide a local connection.

Applications for affordable housing will therefore be considered in the same way that they are now, under the separate district / borough geographical boundaries that previously existed, until a new policy is adopted by the new Council.

You do not need to do anything with regards to your current application unless your circumstances have changed and that the information we hold is no longer accurate.
