Disaggregation of country parks

North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) and West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) have now split responsibility for the running and management of Northamptonshire's country parks.

North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) and West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) have now split responsibility for the running and management of Northamptonshire's country parks.

The following country parks fall under NNC:

Barnwell Country Park
Fermyn Woods Country Park
Irchester Country Park
Sywell Country Park

The following country parks fall under WNC:

Brixworth Country Park
Brampton Valley Way
Daventry Country Park

Brixworth Country Park is the responsibility of WNC and season ticket holders will experience some changes if and when you choose to renew your season ticket and wish to visit this park.

Until you come to renew your season ticket, there will be no difference and you can continue to visit all country parks, including Brixworth Country Park, in Northamptonshire as normal.

Ticket holders will be able to use their tickets for the parks nominated on them until the expiry date on the ticket, regardless of where you live.

Once you renew, if you wish to visit Brixworth Country Park, and it was previously included on your season ticket, you will have to pay separately.

Why this change is happening

As part of the creation of the 2 new unitary authorities in Northamptonshire a temporary agreement was in place for the maintenance and management of the country parks.

That arrangement is coming to an end and therefore each authority will assume responsibility for the country parks in their locality.

Cost of season tickets

A season ticket for all NNC country parks costs £51.50.

A season ticket for all WNC country parks (Brixworth and Daventry) costs £70.

Brixworth Country Park season ticket

You can buy a season ticket for just Brixworth Country Park at a cost of £38 for the year.

This ticket will include parking at Anglian Water car parks in Grange Road, Pitsford and Holcot causeway. Full details on how to purchase will be available soon.

Daily parking costs at Brixworth Country Park

The current daily costs to park at Brixworth Country Park are:

£3.20 for up to 4 hours
£5.20 for up to 8 hours
£7.20 for up to 12 hours

Renewing NNC parks season tickets

You can renew your season ticket for North Northamptonshire online or by phoning the Customer Service Centre on 0300 126 3000.

Extending your current ticket before it expires

You cannot extend a season ticket before it expires and should renew when the previous ticket is due to expire. Any ticket purchased or renewed after 25 March 2022 will fall under the new system.
